Whole Foods Recalls Salmon
One lot of smoked and slices Whole Catch Wild Alaskan Sockeye Salmon (4oz) has been recalled by Whole Foods due to potential risk from Listeria Monocytogenes. The salmon was sold in 12 states including Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Idaho, Kansas, Maine, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Rhode Island, and Utah. The lot code being recalled is 7425A2298B and the UPC code is 0 99482 40880 0. The recall resulted from a sample of the product being tested positive for listeria.
Dispose of this product immediately in the garbage and wash hands to avoid any potential cross-contamination. The stores affected will provide full refunds.

Voluntary Recall of Frozen Pizza by Annie's
The possible presence metal mesh fragments from a third-party flour mill has prompted Annie's Inc. to initiate a voluntary recall of Annie's Homegrown Frozen Pizza. Affected products are distributed at grocery, mass and natural food stores across the USA. Note that ALL varieties of Annie’s RISING CRUST FROZEN PIZZA with a best by date including and between 09 Jan 2013 and 14 Sep 2013 (January 9, 2013 and September 14, 2013) are affected.

Salad Recall by Taylor Farms Inc.
Taylor Farms Retail, Inc. of Salinas has recalled of 110 cases of Taylor Farms Hearts of Romaine 10 oz. bags with an expiration date of 12-13-12. A single random finished package test by the FDA tested positive for Listeria monocytogenes, prompting the recall. The company is cooperating with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and California Department of Public Health (CDPH) regarding this recall.
Listeria monocytogenes is an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.
